Numerous celebrities, such as Fella Makafui, Lydia Forson, and Naa Ashorkor, have travelled to the communities in Ghana's Volta Region that were impacted by the Akosombo and Kpong Dam spill on September 15, 2023, and have given relief supplies to those communities.

These celebrities, along with many other charitable individuals and organizations, are providing much-needed assistance to the victims affected by the devastating flood.

The famous people expressed their sympathy and sorrow for the flood victims who were displaced, lost their jobs, and had their homes destroyed.

The Volta River Authority (VRA) started a controlled release of water from the Akosombo Dam to avoid the possibility of it being overtopped. Nevertheless, it caused the Volta River's water flow to increase, which led to flooding in low-lying areas along its course and had an impact on communities like Mepe, Battor, Sogakope Mafi, Adidome, Ada, and others.

They have exhorted and urged the public to make donations in order to assist these communities during this trying time. Akosombo spill victims' suffering and struggles are being addressed by these celebrities and numerous others.

On October 17, 2023, John Dumelo donated supplies to help those affected by the Akosombo Dam spill. Items like eggs, bread, water, and many others were given to three farming communities nearby. He has received praise and blessings from a large number of people for his thoughtful act.
