The Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Union Berlin has been called off due to heavy snowfall in Munich, Bayern confirmed in a statement.

Safety concerns for fans and Union Berlin supporters took precedence, leading to the decision, as highlighted by CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.

The adverse weather conditions also prompted the closure of roads around Bayern's stadium, impacted transportation with flight cancellations at Munich airport, and led to the suspension of long-distance trains in the region.

Information about a potential rescheduled match will be shared at the earliest. As for their next fixtures, Bayern is slated to face Eintracht Frankfurt while Union Berlin will host Monchengladbach, both matches scheduled for the upcoming Saturday.
